David's Diner 真正的美国餐??!

我是在胃部翻腾,有反胃症状的情况下写这一篇觅食经验的。为什么?刚刚吃了超难吃的午餐,不止心情被破坏,连身体都难过起来了。我妹和我爸已经不止一次叫我不要去试,因为他们都有难过的经验,可是我看了一个博客说他们的水准180度改变,变好了,我就一直想试可是没人肯陪我去。今天原本要试同排的欧陆餐,可是星期一休息,妹妹就妥协了,与我来了这里。

Set Lunch 套餐 A - RM12.90


Set A: Mushroom Soup 蘑菇汤
套餐的汤,你没有看错,餐具和我去乐园吃杂饭那例汤那套一模一样,你更没看错,汤上面的是青葱。一口喝下去,你就想喊有没有搞错!汤的温度是比不冷不热更惨,介于温和冷之间。它是用粉调那种蘑菇汤,没关系,你调好一点嘛,一口汤一口糊的感觉真的很难过你懂吗?喝了几口再咬到一口葱时我说,够了,我放弃了!叫侍者收碗时,他还要确认说,真的不要了吗?不要了,希望你的厨师看到会反省啦!(我心想)


Marinated Lamb Shoulder 腌羊肩排
(你没看错,羊排上的是萝卜和青葱。)
我一开始会想为什么羊排还要加个‘腌’字呢?难道你的羊排都不腌的吗?当食物送上来时我就明白了,因为‘腌’才是主角,羊排是配角。腌料味完全盖过羊肉味,腌到羊肉都开始有点变质了,若你喜欢‘完全不骚’的羊肉,这就是了!火候真的控制到很好,初熟的柔软,可是知羊口面不知心,吃到里面一点我就受不了了,我不是可以吃 medium rare 的人(下图为证)。 Coleslaw 的汁同时又淹及我的羊排,那种口感‘畏到’!!没话讲。By the way,coleslaw 脆,可是是甜的。整碟唯一能吃的,是套餐特别标明的 Italian Roasted Potato马铃薯。



腌羊排的‘真心’。结果这又是一道吃到一半放弃的菜。

Chicken Lasagnia 鸡肉千层意大利面
(我没拼错音噢!它这么写我这么打而已。)
我们的第一个感觉是 --好小噢!我还问我妹,是否蒜蓉面包才是主餐,千层面是配菜?每次吃千层面我都很期待叉下去番茄肉酱‘必’出来那一幕,可是这没有,没有肉酱,没有番茄,只有白白的,稀少的,应该只是调味再炒过的鸡肉碎。千层面的精髓是表层烘得香脆的芝士,这里只有整盘水水的,较白酱浓稠一点的芝士白酱。(真的有芝士吗?)还有,炒鸡肉碎内陷加上浓白酱得到的结论是超咸!
我还和妹妹讨论,:‘假如这盘东西不能感觉到烘烤的痕迹,那烘和蒸有什么分别??’
‘有的,蒸会出水的。’我妹答。(我晕倒!)
‘那,用铝锡纸包住不就得了,水蒸气就滴不进去了。’我反驳...
‘还是会的,边边还是会有水水的...’
‘Ok!你对!你有道理!’我又词穷了。



吃到中途侍者拿出这两颗饼干,说是特别招待的。吃不出来是什么口味的,连奶油香也无,只是甜,会不会是开斋节吃不完的饼干呢?哇啊啊!!




似乎这里的顾客大多是友族同胞,难道吃惯咖喱味觉可能较麻木,店家就可以用这种食物欺负他们吗??


怡保最'应有尽有'又称为‘杂’的柜台。


我们整个午餐的一半都没有吃到,价钱可以收一半吗?

wey, my colleague ask u, u din eat spring onion one izit?

wa si wa, we kinda like david's diner, may be we went there at night time , the we here, is referring to my colleagues. the service is good, the food apprearance is nice (at least they give us some surprise), none of us order any chops, but we order their special dishes (i forget their name, but the price is around 40++ per set if not mistaken)....

Maybe only the set lunch the do not put any heart to cook, and the higher margin ones they'll cook well? I don't know. But if set lunch can't satisfy me, I do not dare to try more expensive ones lor...

so far, those western food restaurant at ipoh not really compatible with the "name". do not expect it is american food or not. just care about the acceptablibily of the taste

I do not really mean it must be 'truely American' but spring onion is really too far away from America right? Really don't make sense, so I can't accept it lor..
